What do you get the people you care about? I keep a book around called, “When Words Matter Most” by Robyn Freedman Spizman. Her cover states, “thoughtful words and deeds to express just ther right thing at just the right time.” It is my go-to when I don’t know what to write in a card or need ideas to make someone feel special.
I’m going to share some of her ideas for creative I-Love-Yous for anyone and some of my ideas.
CREATE AN I-LOVE-YOU BOOK
Get a blank journal and record in it often all the special things about your child or love one. Take turns passing the notebook. Be sure to date the entry; that way you’ll be certain to capture each moment.
MAKE AN I-LOVE-YOU BOX
Search/make the perfect box/container (new or used). Fill it with special and meaningful mementos. You can start with things you already have or start new with the memories you’re going to make.
Leave a special poem or note on your child’s or significant other’s pillow. If ever you can’t be there, leave a rain check for a hug and kiss good night.
SEND A PIZZA
Order a pizza and sent it to the door of someone you love with a note that says, “Here’s a ‘pizza’ my heart!”
Give a lottery ticket to someone you care about with a note that says, “I’m a winner because I’m with you/I love you!”
Fill her purse or his work bag with their favorite candy and attach a note saying, “No one’s sweeter than you!”
WRITE A LOVE LETTER
Really, do it. It will be unexpected and greatly appreciated.
Here’s some of our ideas…
SEND FUNNY TEXT OR MEMES ON V-DAY
Google image search “funny valentine meme” or “funny valentine quotes.” You won’t be disappointed. Send one or one every hour.
MAKE A CARE PACKAGE
Put their favorite personal care items in decorative basket – works for gals or guys. We need to take care of the minds, BODIES, and souls of those we love.
GET THEM FOOD
We’re genetically wired to enjoy food. Don’t fight it. Chocolate covered strawberries anyone? Order yours today.
